Hello moms! What tips do you all have for breastfeeding in public? I love feeding my dd but not sure how to go about doing so in public? By the way she is only 9 days old if that makes a difference

Just remember not to be embarrassed about feeding your child. It's a beautiful and natural thing!

You get used to it!! I've found its easiest for me to nurse in public if he's in his Moby wrap. I just wear a tank top under my shirt, pull the shirt up over, plop the boob out, and cover babes head with the Moby. It supports him without me having to hold him and it covers him up a little. I find quiet places to get him latched and then I go about business as usual once he's on.

Utter covers. It's an apron looking thing that's made to cover you up just for that 😊 don't be ashamed ever!

this was my issue & really interfered with our feedings. they make very stylish "covers" that look like a scarf .. or use a baby "wearer" .. I have seen many moms use those for nursing in public. I say do whatever you are comfortable with. cover or no cover! YOU GO MAMA!

I just did it I didn't care who saw and who disagreed lol I once didn't get served because I was feeding my daughter at the table I had a few words to say as I wasn't going to make my daughter eat in the bathroom. Just remember it legal lol. I use to wear the belly covers and long shirts so I could hide as much as I could that was exposed lol

I used to worry about covering up but not anymore. It's such a natural, beautiful thing...that it shouldn't matter. Look up all of the celebrities that do it...and they aren't shy about covering up either πŸ˜„

I just drape a light receiving blanket or the light crocheted blanket my gram made for LO over my shoulder and baby's head.

If you can, find a few other moms that are comfortable breastfeeding in public and go out with them. You'll see how relaxed they are and how easy it can be :) I don't even use a cover now but I was really shy at first. When done correctly most people won't even know you're nursing! Beautiful baby btw!

Do it I didn't with my 1st born cus I was worried of what others might say and that cause me to always stay home and pretty much not do anything for a year with my second one I told myself it was a normal thing to do I cover up to respect others but if they still feel uncomfortable while I'm covered then that's on them cus I will not stop:)

Thank you everyone! We finally figured out this latching thing today and we are on our 4th pain free feeding! Next step nurse in public and I guess first time will be the test :)

I have heard practice in front of a mirror if exposing yourself is something you are worried about. Good luck

The first time I nursed In public i did it in a place that wasn't super congested with people. I was at the park on a walking trail with my daughter when she decided she was hungry, so I fed her at a picnic table with my cover on. It was nice to get that practice in without a hundred people right on top of you like at a restaurant. You'll be fine momma!!! If anyone ever hackles you about it just ignore them!! If someone like me is around we will jump all over them in a minute!!! πŸ˜‰ congrats!

I wear a nursing Cami and bra under everything so only one boon is out and everything else is still covered. I either put a nursing tee on over or if it's a regular shirt I'll pull it up and gives a little extra coverage. You can get nursing covers or bring a light blanket or swaddle cloth to use as a cover if you feel uncomfortable being exposed also.
