I've heard about all different kinds of diets and drinks to improve autism but none of it worked for my son. But just like every kid is different...every autistic child is different. It may work for your son. Therapy is huge at this early age!

It can't hurt to try... I've also heard autistic kiddos do well on a gluten free diet

No idea on this subject. But the best, most research proven method for treating autism effectively is Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy. I Worked with kiddos with autism and other developmental delays for the last six years, special education teacher and then developmental and ABA therapist. The strides children make in a good ABA program are truly inspiring. I worked with over 200 kids in that time frame, and the majority of them also tried a diet change or supplement of some kind cont

We would rarely see changes from Doing a GFCF diet or other supplements - although occasionally we would see it be effective for a child, but we always saw improvements with a good therapy program. Let me know if you need anything, I'm happy to help as much as I can😄

Emily D he was on speech therapy before but we started ABA last week. I can't believe he has this he was very good, I see his earlier videos he had eye contact, imitating and baby talks. I don't know what and where something got wrong.

Just try to remember it's nothing you did. Diagnosis at 2 is early, and the earlier the better. I worked with a kiddo that at 2, had No language, major behavior issues and also self injurious behavior. He started ABA therapy as soon as he was diagnosed and he is a pretty typical third grader now. The earlier they start therapy, the better chance they have. Cont...

Good for you for doing everything you can for him!!! The most important thing you can do is love him, and be his advocate, which you already are doing!!

A great book that I recommend to parents is "the verbal behavior approach" by Mary barbera. The most successful programs that I worked on we're the ones where the parents became the therapist also, integrating the ABA concepts into the child's daily life. Ask questions, watch the sessions and learn! I loved when my kiddos parents did this and ultimately it made my job easier!
