Anyone have experience with Mirena. Was previously on the pill but because of high blood pressure had to switch to Mirena at the end of March. Just got my first period and it’s lighter than when I was on the pill but seems to be lasting a lot longer. Is this normal? Will it eventually go away? Thanks in advance for any info.

I have not had the mirena personally, but this is normal for it. I had a Skyla IUD for about 2 years and my period was barely anything, like spotting, but the length Seemed the same as my normal period. 🤷🏻♀️

I had to switch to the mirena from the pill for the same exact reason. I actually bled like crazy for weeks. I had it put in a year ago and my periods are finally much lighter. But right before I get my period, I have TERRIBLE cramps. I still get a period, hoping that'll Change to almost nonexistent.🤷🏼♀️

I'm currently on the Mirena for the second time. Both times my periods started light and eventually trickled down to a very light (barely even pantyliner worthy) period Every few months for a day or two. I don't cramp at all with the Mirena and mine were horrible prior. The first time I had it for 15 months and this time I've had it for a bit over 3 years.

I've Had it for 2 1/2 years now. First year I had a period every month on time and they were normal flow but between 6-9 days. Then after a year they cut down to 4 days and have gotten increasingly Lighter to the point where my period is basically discharge tinged with pink. I could get away without using a panty liner. Cramping, backaches, headaches, and moodiness has dropped significantly as well
