Little Girl Spa Day - SmartMom

How To Plan A Little Girl Spa Day

If you’ve got a girlie girl on your hands, one of best experiences you can give her and her friends is a Little Girl Spa Day – complete with treats, bathrobes, and even “facials.” Your daughter wants to be just like you and it doesn’t take a girl very long to appreciate the luxury of being pampered.

Giving your girl a “spa day” with her favorite girlfriends is a perfect birthday party idea or way to celebrate a year of good grades. Of course, a little girl spa will look a little different than the spa days you and I crave. There won’t be any REAL facial masks or any deep tissue massages, but you can set the scene and give your girl plenty of spa-themed fun that she and her friends will never forget.

The first thing to figure out is what sort of treats you’ll be serving. If your little lady wants her party to feel like a day at the spa, make her treats scream “spa” too. suggests making edible eye masks! The site even lists a recipe – “Knead 2/3 cup of flour into a 16 ½ ounce roll of refrigerated sugar-cookie dough, then roll it out.” Easy! Once you do that, cut out cookies in the shape of eye masks and use straws to poke a hole on each side for the “ties” (which are actually strings of licorice).

Another cute snack idea is to make a guacamole and chip spread look like a lady wearing a facemask.  This idea was found on Chickabug Blog.

Flip flop sandwiches are another great idea. You can have PB & J, Turkey and cheese – whatever your girl wants. Just cut the sandwiches into the shape of a flip flop sandal and add some cucumber peel strips as shoe straps.

For a spa party, you’ll want all your décor to scream SPA. Nail polish bottles, flip flops, bathrobes – anything like that is perfect. You can have candles lit and choose a soothing color palate to give the room a truly relaxing, spa feel (although good luck achieving a “relaxing” vibe with a bunch of excited little girls!). Drape soft material around on the furniture and maybe pull in some reclining pool chairs for a very “chill” vibe.

You can also make cute little spa party favors like this one from

Don’t forget to set the mood with a classical or ambient music station playing on Spotify in the background.

You can’t throw a good spa party without some legit pre-planned pampering. Of course, you have to remember not to use chemicals for footbaths or “facials.” For little girls, it’s all about the show and the experience – not so much the “results.” They don’t have any wrinkles to hide yet, after all.

You can have a little foot tub for each girl (any plastic container will do) and fill it with warm water mixed with some bubble bath. Or, for some extra zing, use one of these recipes for the footbath, straight from

Milk Chocolate Bubble Bath

Ingredients: 1/2-cup vanilla soymilk, 1/4-cup milk chocolate chips, 1 cup unscented baby shampoo, plastic bottle with cap

Step 1: Put soymilk in a saucepan over low heat and bring to a simmer.
Step 2: Once simmering remove pan from heat and add in chocolate chips. Whisk until melted.
Step 3: Let mixture cool for approximately 1 hour.
Step 4: Add 1-cup baby shampoo to the mixture.
Step 5: Pour mixture into plastic bottle with cap.
Step 6: Pour 1/2 cup under running water in the mixture and add to footbath.
Store bottle in the refrigerator for 3 days.

Cherry Bubble Bath

Ingredients: 1 cup unscented baby unscented baby shampoo, 1 cup baby oil, 1/2 cup honey, 3 drops cherry fragrant oil, 2 drops of red food coloring, plastic bottle with lid.
Step 1: Put baby shampoo, honey, cherry fragrant oil, red food coloring in a blender and blend for 30-50 seconds.
Step 2: Add in baby oil and blend again for 30-50 seconds.
Step 3: Pour mixture into a plastic bottle.
Step 4: Add 1/2 cup under running water and pour into footbath.

Another fun spa activity can be fruity facials! One fun recipe from suggests a “Spa Banana Avocado Mask” for “nourishing and moisturizing.”  All you have to do is blend ½ overripe banana, mashed, ½ overripe avocado, mashed, and 2 tbsp. of plain yogurt.  Adjust the quantities based on how many girls attend the party, of course. Once it’s mixed, you can apply the gooey mixture to their faces and necks and leave on for 20 minutes (or 2 minutes, depending on their attention span). Add some cucumber slices on their eyes for the full effect. Rinse with warm water.

A good mani/pedi is always fun. Just check with moms and make sure they are okay with their daughters getting their nails painted.

What do you like to do when you get a day at the spa? Think about that and then tweak it to be little-girl friendly. What a soothing massage is for you, might be freestyle dancing with scarves to classical music for them. Be creative and have fun!
